FDS Meetings

FDS meets every Tuesday evening, between 8.00pm and 10.00pm at the Farnborough Village Hall, 65 High Street, Farnborough, Kent, BR6 7BB. After 10pm we have been known to adjourn to the nearest hostelry!!

FDS News 2011

So! The year is over! Sad times.

Firstly a FDS thanks to Holly for taking the role of Secretary on half way through the season!

So much to report so little time. 3 very successful plays, a sack full of nominations and awards, a ginger Superman, A tomb with a scenic view across Delancy where a Ghost was seen lying down, a Front Page review and plenty of laughs.

Sue Walkers festival performance was amazing from everyone involved on and off the stage everyone put in 200% which showed with several nominations and a special guest voice from the "Eastside Delivery Service":

Best Actress in a Major Role: Edna Walker

Best Actor in a Minor Role: Paul Minett

Best Sound: Colin Adams

Best Props: Janice English and Ann Howlett

This was to be a final farewell performance from our very own resident Granny, Edna Walker. She shall be missed from the boards of FDS but will be active in other duties!

The October Play of Tomb with a View, Directed by Tor, went down a storm with great feedback from Cast, Crew and the Audience. A secret door, a missing head and a plot with more twists than a pretzel! A laugh a minute on and off the stage was a great Production.

Robin Walkers May production of Laying the Ghost was a first for a while for FDS as it was reviewed by the Bromley Times. This was to be a memorable play as it was canceled the last time Robin wanted to do it due to the passing of Peggy Dear. This play was everything it lived up to be on paper, and more! I Quote from the review: "Daft Plot and clever one liners make for an evening filled with Laughter!"

So as the 2010/2011 Play year comes to an end we all bid you Farewell and look forward to a promising 2011/2012.

Its the start of the new year for FDS and we have 3 new plays for your viewing pleasure. Watch this space for news and general information on Plays! We would like to congratulate Wendy on being a member for 50 Years, and thank her for the hospitality she showed for the Celebration party at her place. We wish her many more years service.
